Blog Requirements

Published February 24, 2014 by coopersmedia

Below is an e-mail from our teacher outlining the requiement we need to meet for our blog. We feel that we have already achieved highly in the majority of these areas and believe that our blog represents our progression throughout the course of our media coursework.

Dear Students,

Well done on meeting the deadlines for submitting the ancillary tasks (digipak and advertisement). The next step in your coursework journey is to complete your blog. It is due on February 24, 2014.

Have a good break.

Steps.
Review your blog theme and widgets—Make sure the blog reflects the band/singer (colours, theme, fonts, etc.). Make sure you have appropriate widgets (calendar, links).
Review your blog posts–have you tagged and categorized your entries? Are all embedded links working. Each student will be graded individually.
Review marking criteria. It can be found here. http://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/81037-specification.pdf ….Look on page 70.
Each person must show evidence of the areas. One post per area does not cut it. I’ve listed some ideas below.
Planning and research evidence will be complete and detailed.

• There is research into similar products and a potential target audience.(music videos that influenced your idea, ancillary task research, history of music videos, audience feedback, dailies, audience feedback of final products–ancillary tasks and music video, a range of types of audience feedback, music video conventions, conventions of ancillary task items, research on how you used specific software to help you…Photoshop, premiere pro)
• There is work on shot lists, layouts, drafting, scripting or story boarding. (animatic, drafts of ancillary tasks, rough cut of music video, set layout for music video, arrangement of location, shooting script, etc.)
• There is organization of actors, locations, costumes or props. (communication with actors throughout process, communication with locations, shots of locations, reece shots, costume, make-up, shots of props, communication with Lollie to book equipment)
• Time management. (How have you managed your time each week? media sign-in, planner/diary, timetable).
• There skill in the use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation (blogging, Scribd, Slideshare, Vlog, SoundCloud, Embedded videos, images, slideshows)
• There is communication skills. (fluent expression, spelling, capital letters, blogs are detailed and show the journey of the project, grammar)
• Care in the presentation of the research and planning. (tagging, blog theme, categorizing)

5. I would say that each student needs to have 4-5 items for each of the above.

DO NOT BE THE STUDENT THAT DOESN’T DEVELOP HIS/HER BLOG. IT COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ‘A’AND A ‘B’.

Regards,

Mr. Dunford
